North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
The NC Museum of Natural Sciences is a high-performing nexus of research, collections, living collections, exhibitions and digital media, school and lifelong education, community engagement, and a regional network—each fueled by great expertise and a diversifying portfolio of public, earned and contributed funds. This museum is the oldest established museum in North Carolina and the largest museum of its kind in the Southeastern United States. The museum itself offers exhibits on NC’s geology, flora & fauna, plus fossil collections, 3D films & live-animal programs.

Buckhorn disc golf course
Established in 2001, Buckhorn at Harris Lake Park, is considered the most challenging course in the area. With tight fairways, lots of out of bounds and water on six holes (including four throw overs,) this course will test your accuracy as well as distance.
William B. Umstead State Park
Stroll nature trails or walk along 22 miles of hiking trails meandering through forest. Free admission!
Experience historic City Market, home to art galleries, restaurants and specialty shops. The original cobblestone streets are lit by lamps and filled with 19th-century charm. Individual business hours vary.
